About the Program
The US Virgin Islands Infants and Toddlers Early Intervention Program is a
territorywide, comprehensive, coordinated, multidisciplinary, interagency system providing early
intervention services for infants and toddlers with disabilities and their families in St.
Thomas/St. John, Water Island, and St. Croix. Our purpose is to enhance the capacity
of families to meet the special needs of their children. This program supplements the
Maternal Child Health Program services.

How to Use the Program
and Who Can Use the Program
Our referral process is simple. Anyone can send a referral to the Infants and Toddlers
Program in person, by mail, facsimile or telephone. Relevant family contact and
demographic information is necessary to follow-up with the parent/legal guardian of the
referred child, and information about the developmental concern or the established
diagnosis must be provided. Parent/Legal Guardian consent for evaluation and services
must be provided, in writing, to the Infants and Toddlers Program. This program is
voluntary. Parents can exit services at anytime. However, children exit (or transition
from) the program at three years of age.

Program Hours
The Infants and Toddlers Program Office hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. However, early intervention services are provided in the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) Part C eligible child’s natural environment and therapy services can be provided during the weekday early evenings and on Saturdays, in addition to the work week hours.

(V.I. FIND), is the Virgin Islands' parent information center for children with disabilities. PTICs are federally funded local nonprofit organizations that provide free training and information about special education rights of children with disabilities and special needs.
