The Human Resources Office provides leadership and comprehensive personnel management for the Department of Health in accordance with
Virgin Islands rules and regulations. The office works with all divisions in the Department and outside agencies. In coordination with DOH divisions, the Human Resources Office designs programs that support and enhance the DOH mission.
The office also provides leadership in planning and developing personnel policies and programs that support and enhance the department as it relates to employment, compensation, position classification, employee development and benefits, performance management, labor relations, technical assistance and applicable personnel law, regulations and policies.

Professional work involving a broad spectrum of responsibilities including highly confidential and
sensitive matters and services associated with human resources management within the agency. Work
involves planning, developing, implementing, coordinating, and recommending policies, strategies and
activities in such areas as: employee recruitment, personnel policy clarification, performance
management, hiring process, employee orientation, employee and labor relations and training in the
agency's human resources policies. This position may be territorial and receives direction and may report
to the Director or assistant Director of Human Resources (or other senior level HR).
